we are treated to a nice breakfast, and Andrew drives us on his "small" truck to the airfield
The plan is to fly south along the lake Michigan, along Chicago downtown, to 2 airports on the other side of the lake, one in Michigan and one in Indiana
First, the shore is quite bare, then we find some pretty nice residences, on the lake front
to finally reach the Chicago skyline
we can fly at 500 ft over the water, without having to contact anyone on the radio
Further south, before reaching Indiana, we cross some old devastated industrial areas, some still operating, and many just derelict.
down where the lake ends and bends again to the north, we cross Gary field, still in IL
we stop in Andrews University / Berries Springs airfield in Michigan, which is the University of the 7th day Adventist Church, founded in 1874....
...and proceed further to Michigan City, which contrary to its name is Indiana.
We refill the airplane with 100LL, following the simple instructions displayed next to the pump,
take the courtesy car provided by the FBO and drive to town for lunch.
The flight back is again towards Chicago downtown, where we first do some low flying along the shore...
visit some industrial areas
to again admire the skyline of Chicago.
For the pilot community reading this, look at what they did to Meggs Field, a shame to have closed this water front airport.
This is a short video of the Chicago skyline

On the way back to Campbell, IL, we decide to check out on a few houses we saw for sale. Andrew indicated he might move closer to town. Here those we thought would fit into his budget...
It is about 3.00 pm, school is out, and the buses are ready to pick up the children to bring them home
back at Andrew's home, we decide to eat at home, and he prepares a couple of small lamb chops to start, and a few filet steaks for the main course. Sides are beer and salad

Tiens cette skyline de Chicago me rappelle mes premières heures de Flight Simulator :)
