Oct 1, a no fly day in Phoenix (Arizona)

We start the day, after a nice rest in the magnificent house of Susan and Ed with another hearty breakfast, and check the weather for the day and the coming week.
Here in Phoenix we can expect 37C (104F) for today, and it will cool down to over 30C for the rest of the week.
Weather also looks good for the rest of the week on our planned route to Utah, Nevada, Grand Canyon, New Mexico and back to Texas during the next 3 days.

We are luckier than we could have imagined.

Sofar every days has been clear skies and it seems it will be the same for the last few days.

A short break in the patio, on the shade, before leaving for the hike in the mountain.

Susan drives us in the backcountry to visit an old indian village from the year 1050 AC, which has been partly rebuilt. Superb views into the far distant mountains.

The short video below will give a sample of the view.
Lunch is downtown Scottsdale, and we are back home for a lazy afternoon by the swimming pool and the hot pool.
The first "snow birds", the residents of northern States start heading south to avoid the winter cold in their home states, already start to drive southbound, pulling their "small" car behind them.

Lunch is downtown Scottsdale at a local restaurant, and we go bak home to enjoy a lazy afternoon by the pool...

... the lazy afternoon turns into a lazy late afternoon and a few drinks by the pool...

... and an excellent dinner prepared by Susan, which we enjoy on the patio, facing a full moon raising into the sky.

And after dinner, we try the jaccuzzi at 32C (99F)

and finish off the evening with desert by the fireplace, with temperatures still in the 80's (at least 25 C)

What a day!! Thanks a lot Susan and Ed. Tomorrow we take off for a long flight into 2 additional states on our list, plus a flight over the Grand Canyon
