Oct 3, 2013, a no fly day, we drive around Maine and eat lobster

We take our first day of no-flying, as we are now on track with the plan.

Maine is the country of lobster, there are signs everywhere

the views along the coast are spectacular, and we are again lucky with the weather

the color changing of the trees is also spectacular
We also do some cultural stops...

In  Kennebunkport, Maine, we try to get to the George Bush mansion for a drink, but security does not agree with us, so we take a photo from far away. Nice summer cottage he has there.

my friends motobikers enjoy the last days of summer, check out the cup holder on this bike...
Lunch is in Ogunquit, Maine, and we enjoy another seafood dish at Captain's Catch place.

3.21 lbs of lobster for 2...

Remodeling of housing is going, let's hope the roof workers do not fall down !

Annelies nickname restaurant!!!!
In the land of the free, it seems dying is preferred to not be free, despite the limitations

Regulations on the beach about Aircrafts???, yes, it says no aircrafts are to land on beaches !!

In Maine, it seems plenty of cars have courtesy plates, with funny texts...
NVAGVUP ??? Probably Never Give Up

                                                                              No to what???

This handyman truck shows "All done", whereas WSPURR, probably means Whisper

Some Brazilian seem to have moved to Maine, joining the oyster fishermen, unless they are off skiing....

The dinner is again at a seafood restaurant.
You will comment: again seafood??, yes, we may as well, we will leave tomorrow southbound.
therefore some small starters of shrimp, a few oysters, a chowder,

some salad for the vitamins, followed by scallops and lobster

We won't show you the dessert,,, we feel ashamed for having ordered a walnut/chocolate cheesecake.
During dinner, we meet our new friends from Palos Verdes, California, who are spending a vacation in Maine.
If you read this, send me your email to louis.ballerstedt2@gmail.com

with all this food, we ned a digestion stroll around Portland, which actually will not be as long as hoped, we end up at a small outdoor live music bar

and to call it a day, we stop at SAM's ice cream parlor, for a "night cap" of ice cream.
Guess who had the large and who had the small ice cream?

Tomorrow friday Oct 4 we fly again.
