Last year we had not a single day of rain, and we had one day of overcast, which we managed easily.
This year, except the 2 days at the beginning of the trip where we were rained out in Florida, we had only good conditions.
On a couple of occasions, we had to wait for fog to lift, but we were never concerned as we knew that the sun above the fog would burn off the fog.
Weather even cooperated with us today, as we had planned a one day no fly day with my sister Yvonne (Vonny) and Mark, and guess what.... the big front we were hearing about since a few days is passing right over us today, and should clear in the afternoon, bringing nice clear skies behind the front as of tonight.
we could not have planned better.
Below a view of the porch, all wet, where we had dinner last night
Vonny (my sister Yvonne Droms) has been an important element on Rosetta Stone start up and success since it was created, at its headquarters in Harrisonburg, VA
We visit local mills, a few of many who have been saved from the time when during the civil war, they were set on fire to prevent the population of being able to obtain flower, therefore access to food

Weather improved in the afternoon, just in time for a short flight with Vonny on the right seat, Mark and Werner in the back seats.
We take off from the New market airfield, VA, and fly over her house (actually she flies over her house).
Coloring also starts in VA and WV

On the way home, we cross one of many corn fields, ready to be harvested, and another water mill
We have dinner on Tex/Mex
So today will be sightseeing in the area, shopping, laundry, eat, and catching up emails, etc.
The drive downtown is wet.

My niece Erin drove all the way from Richmond VA to have dinner with us (2 1/2 hours drive one way, this is a long drive...thanks Erin, for having taken the time to meet with me).

Do you have playing cards and whiskey? :)
