We arrived yesterday afternoon in Dallas / Fort Worth.
After an uneventful flight across the Atlantic, we asked the Lufhansa pilot to deviate his route to the West, so we would overfly the state of Minnesota, and actually do the opposite direction of what we plan to do in a few days.
Once in DFW, we took our rental car and drove to Flower Mound, 15 minutes north of DFW and were met by Bernadette and Philippe, our long time friends in TX.
Their home will be our base until tomorrow morning while we go to the Northwest Regional Airport, about 10 miles from here. (see photo below)
Marcair Flight School, a swiss owned company specialized in Cessna and flight training will do our check flights and probably a Biannual Flight review as well, and do all the paper work connected to a longer than usual rent period.

We will then load the plane with our luggage, charts and photo equipment so to be ready to leave Wednesday morning Sept 19 northbound towards Minnesota.
The training and the flights we intend to do during the next 3 weeks shall be made on a Cessna 172SP, a 180 HP airplane from 2006, as seen here.
