Sept 19, from Roanoke (Texas) to Lamar (Colorado)

Finally we kick off Project 48.
After a short flight of 8 nM, we stop in Denton Texas to greet my good friend Ernesto, who very recently moved from Singapore to Texas.
As we headed north, we crossed into Oklahoma over the Red  River.
A short fuel stop in Hobart and we proceed further north to Kansas

Oklahoma and Kansas have many interesting views, such as Windmills, cattle farms, agricultural businesses and huge chicken farms.

As we refueled in Elkhart, Kansas, we met Mike, a pilot on his Yak on the way to a Yak reunion in Lamar / Colorado. No doubt, we follow him to lamar, and get invited by Mickey and Al to join for dinner.

As we reach their home, we find out it is a private airstrip out of which Agricultural spraying takes place, among many more interesting activities...
Dinner has been shot, and is being prepared...

The Yak 52 pilots and the "foreign" guests at Mickey and Al's home, discussing the events of the day, and Mickey with 2 happy guests enjoying the dinner she prepared.
We spent the night at the local "Palace".
