A one day break is welcome…
Today was one of the few no-fly days we planned in our trip, as back up days, for weather or other unforeseen reasons.
So far, we have covered about 4.000 nm of point to point mileage, and have logged 38 hours of flight.
Chris has met us at the hotel and we drive along Hwy 101
(also known as "Pacific Coast Highway" or PCH for the insiders), southbound towards San Diego.

We stop at different locations southbound and enjoy the
views before reaching the “Air & Space Museum” in the Balboa Park.

We have lunch in Coronado at one of Chris’ preferred Mexican restaurant, across the street from the famous Hotel Del Coronado, nicknamed “Del”, where Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis appeared on the movie “Some like it hot”.
It becomes a tradition that on each of our USA trips, we
come across a wedding…
And a small “clin d’oeil” to my mentor Sam, who helped me
set up the blog.
We take a look at the road border crossing station between Mexico
and the USA, and peek through the fences to the south, quite an impressive set
up.

(click on the video), before stopping at Chris’ house for a drink.
Some dinner and live Rock and Roll music wrap up the day.
