Sept 23, Buffalo (Minnesota) to Rapid City (South Dakota)

As we wake up at the farm, a couple of wild turkeys are sitting in the garden, probably ready to head south in anticipation of the cold weather coming soon.
Another hearty breakfast prepared by MaryAnn....
First day with frost, some ice outside, temperatures slightly below freezing.

Ready for take off on Rwy 36 at Buffalo, north west bound, to add 2 other states on our list.

For the last week, we have enjoyed a super nice weather pattern, and we seem to continue to be lucky for the next few days.

Soon we leave Minnesota and reach North Dakota, showing us their very rich agricultural landscape under our wings.

A short stop in Gwinner (North Dakota), where we need to feed our bird with some 100LL, and off we are further south west into South Dakota.

Fields forever below us, this part of the country must have suffered less from the drought.

As we reach South Dakota, we cross the Missouri River with spectacular landscapes.

We land in Rapid City (South Dakota) after an un-eventful flight at FL 65, with CAVOK and a light headwind. Even a Pilatus PC12 is waiting for us!

Today we flew a total of 4.8 hours, and we are greeted by a lot of big powerful birds on the ground when we arrive in Rapid City (South Dakota). Must be a rich area…

Tomorrow (Monday Sept 24) is a fly less day, we will drive around the area, visit Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills and the Crazy Horse.
